Notice of French Translation

Due to the introduction of Quebec Bill 96, you should make sure that all parties to your contract are okay with the language of the contract being in English and have seen a French version of the contract before signing the English version. If you do not provide a French version of the contract and the other party suffers as a result, the contract can be declared to have no legal effect or they can seek to recover their losses from you.

You will find a French version of your contract included before the English version. Any answers that you provided in English in the questionnaire have not been translated to French. You should consider providing a French translation of any important or long answers that you provided in English using Google Translate.

After showing all parties both the French and English versions of the contract, and everyone agreeing that the contract can be in English, all parties should sign the below acknowledgement. If an issue about the language of the contract comes up in the future, this acknowledgement provides written proof that the parties agreed for the contract to be in English.

If the parties choose to have the language of the contract as French, you should instead go to https://www.lawdepot.ca/contracts/politique-de-confidentialite-d-un-site-web/ and reenter your answers for a French contract.

Acknowledgement of English Language Contract

I have seen a French and an English version of the Website Privacy Policy dated January 17, 2024 and am choosing to enter this contract exclusively in English.
